Global Wind Service A/S was established in January 2008 by Lars Bo Petersen and Michael Nielsen, with the ambition to deliver wind turbine installation and service *in a more flexible, efficient, and client-focused way.*
In 2009, Fred. Olsen acquired a majority holding in the company, providing a strong foundation for international growth. Since then, GWS has expanded with business units across Europe, South Africa, the United States, Australia, and Taiwan.
In 2021, Global Wind Service Academy opened in Poland, further strengthening the company’s focus on technical competence, safety, and workforce development for the wind industry.
