Completion of the Windplan Blauw

We would like to proudly announce our successful completion of the installation of 24 GE 5.5MW turbines in WindplanBlauw, nearshore wind farm located in the Ijsselmeer, an inland lake in the Netherlands. The Windplan Blauw is developed and owned by SwifterwinT and Vattenfall AB.

GE Vernova selected Global Wind Service as the partner for pre-assembly, main installation, and mechanical and electrical completion works. The pre-assembly took place at Alaskahaven Amsterdam and the main installation at Ijsselmeer, situated near the coast between Urk and Lelystad. “It was a challenging project, but thanks to the great teamwork together with GE, we managed to make it a success.”  Jeroen Tiemes said, Onshore Project Director.

Pre-assembly of the turbines by Global Wind Service began in March 2022, with main installation starting in May. The first turbine was erected on May 10th and last one on 20th March 2024. The project took approximately 120.000 working hours with two established teams and we would like to emphasize the importance of safety and quality, attributing success to the awareness and experience of onsite team. We are proud of our Teamwork, and we believe that employee satisfaction highly contributes to the project success and customer satisfaction.
